Pallas Athena

Gustav Klimt, founding member and president of the rebellious Vienna Secession. The group's symbol was Pallas Athena (Minerva to the Romans), the powerful virgin Greek goddess of just causes, strength, courage, wisdom, war, and the arts.

Legend says that Athena came to life with a tremendous war cry, fully armed from Zeus's brain. On her aegis, the golden head of Medusa. She holds the figure of Nuda Veritas, or "naked truth," in her right hand, while, in the background, Hercules fights Triton.
